Description
The assembly of the nut and trapezoidal screw
A trapezoidal thread connection is a movement connection, rarely used at rest. It is used to convert rotary motion into progressive or vice versa with the simultaneous possibility of mechanical work. Trapezoidal screws and nuts are widely used in machine building. They are used wherever high positioning accuracy, self-locking, durability and high screw load are needed.
Depending on the working conditions of the surroundings, suitable materials for the nut and bolt are obtained.
The best cooperation is obtained for a steel screw and a bronze nut, which has self-lubricating properties, which extends the service life, prevents overheating of the nut and ensures quiet operation of such a connection. In applications with an aggressive environment or no lubrication of the thread, plastic caps can be used. The material of the plastic cap is refreshed under specific conditions. Bolts and nuts are used in our MRP actuators. It is worth noting that the trapezoidal thread is self-locking, from its small size. Thanks to our actuators, it is not necessary to use more expensive motors with brakes.
The strength of the nut depends mainly on its height, the higher the nut, and thus the longer the thread, it can carry a greater weight and will have a longer life.
In responsible lifting applications, in addition to applying the appropriate safety factor, you can also use the safety nut of our production. Thread nut wear is controlled by reducing the gap between the safety nut. If the thread breaks, the safety nut takes over the load.
