Softstarts

A soft starter is a device used to limit the current surge (high current in a short time) when switching on electrical devices. Used in the power system of high-power devices, in particular electric motors (especially cage ones), halogen lamps, power supplies, rectifiers containing large capacity capacitors and other devices, which at the moment of starting can take electricity many times higher than the rated current. The power surge may cause overloading of the network and may cause overcurrent protection.
